P1060014Hi Everyone! Here's another card made with the images from The Open Sea stamp set in the Summer Mini. ( 123030 wood mount, 123032) As mentioned in my earlier post, I stamped each image in Not Quite Navy and Cherry Cobbler ink. I had enough images to make 4 cards all using Sarah Sand as a card base.

This card is my first go at a buckle card! I thought I would show this card so I could share a lesson learned….Poke hole to thread the baker's twine slightly on the inside of the fold line to thread through verse directly on the fold! If I would have adjusted the buckle length, I think it would have been okay!

To make: Take 8.5" x 5.5" Sarah Sand cardstock, fold in half like standard card base. Open and trim 1-1/2" strip off the right side. I used this strip as my buckle.

Decorate front of card with Nautical Expedition Designer Paper 122343 and other embellishement. Using the Word Window punch 119857 punch slot on the right front.

Decorate your buckle strip:  Score at 3 P1060015 1/2"" (mine was scored at 3"and needed to be a little longer)

Inside – Trim Not Quite Navy card stock to 4' x 5 1/4". Adhere buckle at score mark behind this piece making sure the buckle is lined up with the lower bottom of the slot.

Other Items used for card: 2 1/2" Circle Punch, Modern Lable Punch, Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, Cherry Cobbler/White Baker's Twine,

P1060016 The flap allows for another area to write or stamp.

On another note, I took the Goodbye list and highlighted my catalog so I could review what is going to be a fond farewell item. This way I can go through the catalog and review any last chance stamps I may want.

I hope you enjoy trying a buckle card and Happy Crafting!~ Dee
