Hi Everyone! Happy Valentine's Day! May you spend it with, talking to or thinking about your loved ones. Here's Jeff's Valentine's card. This negative techique was one I've had on my list to try for a long time. So easy…you'll have to give it a try!

Typical way to acheive this effect:
Start out with a 2-1/2" square of cardstock – . Mark with a pencil at the 1-1/4"  point along all 4 sides. This will serve as a guide so you know where the middle is located. With a symetrical punch, punch out 1/2 the image along each side.
Flip the 1/2 punched out image to create a negative space when you layer on contrasting color background.

Since the Red Glimmer paper 121790 is one sided, the flipping didn't work as the glitter side would then be turned down and not shown. So I simply punched out an additional 4 half hearts on the left side. (119883 Full Heart Punch) .

How to finish the card:
Cut a 2-1/2" square of Whisper White 100730 and run through the Big Shot 113439 using Elegant Lines embossing folder 119277. Layer the red glimmer punched square on top of the embossed whisper white.
Emboss with Stripes 123128 folder a piece of 4" x 5-1/4 Whisper White. Adhere to card base
Card base – Real Red card stock 102482 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"

Punch 117193 Small Heart out of whisper white and heart from Owl Builder 118074 punch out of red glimmer.

Stamp sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes 115370 using Real Red ink 103133. Punch with Word Window punch 119857 and layer with red glimmer punched with Modern Label Punch 119849.

Adhesives  – Tombo Multipurpose Glue and Stampin' Dimensionals foam dots.

Jeff and I are celebrating our 16th Valentine's Day. 6 hearts on the front of the card and 10 on the inside. All together….ahhh 😉

Happy Crafting!~ Dee
