Hi Everyone! This is a larger punch art owl that decorates a repurposed pickle jar! Candy corn is readily available all year round, and I can wait to fill this with the Halloween M&M..orange and black!
As with the decorated wine bottle from yesterday's post, it's fun to use our Stampin' UP! supplies with all sorts of things! I pretty much stayed with 3 products – Witches' Brew Designer Paper, Orange & Black Stampin' Glitter Pack & Halloween Bash stamp set & coordinating card stock.
Start with the 3rd smallest Oval Framelits as the owls' base. Make layering feathers from the scallop border punch. With layering circle punches, make eyes. Take a 2"x2" Basic Black card stock scrap and cut diangonally to make the head. To step up, use Orange Stampin' Glitter to make his spooky eyes shine and Black Stampin' Glitter to the feathers!
Steps: With 2-1/2" Circle Punch, punch circle with Basic Black to cover the top of the jar. I found candy corn at my local grocery store. One of these packs fills the jar.
Oval Framelit (3rd smallest)
Scallop Edge Border
Adhere border to oval body at the top of the strip leaving the scallops unglued…you can 'fluff' them!
Basic Black card stock cirles with 1-1/4" Circle 119861 & 3/4" Circle 119873
Pumpkin Pie card stock circle from the 1" circle punch 119868.
Option – add glitter to eyes either with glue or heat set with VersaMark,Heat & Stick Powder & the Heat Tool – what I did. If you do this option, heat set a section of the card stock then punch.
To make the brow and ears – take a 2×2 piece of basic black card stock and cut diagonally in half. I cut a small left over glitter piece and glued on for the beak. Add a little black glitte to his fluffed feathers.
