Hi Everyone! My home PC has gotten new life and I should be good-to-go again…yeah! I hate to admit it, but I struggled using hubby's new laptop. The left and right click areas blended in with the area to move the mouse around and I couldn't get it to react that way I needed. (giggle) why do they all have to be SO different? hahaha
Today's Must Have Mondays is circle punches. Which ones? all 🙂 Purchase them over time until you have all sizes. Circle punches are great as you can use them to punch out images and sentiment and layer them unto your projects for interest. Also used in treat boxes to create holding space for K-Cups (project shown above and see the post on how to make here). They are also key shapes to punch art.
The 1-3/4" Circle Punch was used for both the apple punch art in this project. It's a great size to get started on a circle punch collection! My punch is the old style from Stampin' UP!
To make the Apple Punch Art - use the template below to make your apple shapes. Take the White Gel Pen to make a highlight.
Hi Everyone! Taking one the card bases from yesterday's post, I added a Punch Art Snowman to make today's Christmas in July inspiration. It has 2 new punches – the 1-1/2" Circle Punch (oh THANK YOU SU! – this size was missing!) and the Tree Builder Punch for his stick arms.
Snowman Punches used: Tree Builder, 1-1/2" Circle, 1-3/4" Circle Sentiment Punch – Decorative Label.
General instructions:
For the snowman: Punch branches with scrap Early Espresso cardstock. Punch circles out of Whisper White cardstock. Lightly sponge around the edges with Early Espresso Ink. Draw face using Stampin' Write Markers of Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie. With pink ink – circle sponge dauber the cheeks. Add 3 circles using the White Gel Pen. Assemble snowman. Add Neutral Collection Candy Dots for buttons. Add Dazzling Details around the snowman – allow to dry completely before handling.
Take a piece of 3"x 2" Smokey Slate and emboss with Stylish Stripes embossing folder. With Stampin' Dimensionals, layer unto a piece of 3-1/4" x 2-1/4" Old Olive.
Stamp sentiment and punch out with Decorative Label Punch. With same punch, punch out 2 shapes with Cherry Cobbler card stock. Cut one in half vertical and cut the other in half horizontal. Layer behind sentiment.
Add snowman and sentiment to card base using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Hi Everyone! I just couldn't stop making these little cuties! Here they are shown in each of the 5 colors from the 2013-2015 In Color Backgrounds Designer Paper Stack. See yesterday's post for written instructions or watch a Start to Finish video tutorial below.
Hi Everyone! How cute is this mug I found at Walmart?! I made a matching tag using the Owl Builder Punch and Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Pack. They were part of my craft fair booth items. I save back a few to use for my personal gifting this year. Makes for a great teacher gift, co-worker or general thank you gift!
Hi Everyone! Inspired by the glitter Pier 1 Flower Fairy ornaments shown, here's a pot full of happy flower people. At least they make me happy to look at 🙂 They are glitterfied by using Heat & Stick Powder and Dazzling Diamonds glitter.
Heat & Stick & Dazzling Diamonds work together to make glimmer paper out of any color of card stock. Here's the order to make:
Apply VersaMark to cardstock. Swipe entire surface of VersaMark unto cardstock.
Sprinkle Heat & Stick over the VersaMark area – tap off excess.
Use Heat Tool to activate & meat powder.
Sprinkle Dazzling Diamonds Glitter over area – tap off excess.
Use Heat Tool to set glitter into powder.
Here's some step by step photos Click the thumbnails to go through the progression.
As you can see, you can punch or die-cut your custom color glimmer paper!
