Hi Everyone! On my team’s Facebook Group yesterday, I did a Facebook Live on 2 background techniques. This is one of them! It it sooo super easy. All you need is your acrylic blocks and ink pads!
Here I used Acrylic Block Size B to stamp 4 different colors. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy! Then if so desired ( and I desired LOL) your can add other images on top of the background blocks. I love this cute bunny from Welcome Easter stamp set.
Hi Everyone! Today I have a fun and easy technique that helps use up scrap strips of designer paper. It’s the (big wink) Scrap Strips Technique LOL!
It couldn’t be easier. Glue strips of designer paper side by side. Pick an image to die cut and have at it!
Cut and layout your scrap strips.
Glue strips unto whisper white cardstocj
Example of finished sheet.
Die cut and enjoy!
I like starting with a 6″ x 6″ piece of Whisper White cardstock (not thick whisper white). 6″ wide because that the max. width of my die cutting machine. If you have lots of 12″ long scraps – you could make a 6×12.
Cut strips of scrap designer paper into 1/4″ x 6″ or 1/2″ x6″ OR whatever size you wish! 1/2″ shown above. AND feel free to mix and match the widths!
Arrange the strips in a pattern you like.
Glue using Multipurpose glue.
Die cut an amazing, one of a kind embellishment or layer!
To make this project.
Die cut Scrap Strip using Stitched so Sweetly.
Stamp sentiment with VersaMark, add Gold Embossing Powder and heat set. Die cut.
Add sentiment using a glue dot.
Fold bag flap.
Tie ribbon and add Scrap Strip embellishment using dimensionals.
Hi Everyone! It’s a butterfly spinner card! This is the last week to get Sale-A-Bration’s Botanical Butterflies Designer Paper. It’s FREE with a $50 purchase.
What’s great about this paper is some of sheets line up with the Butterfly Duet Punch perfectly. Or you could fuzzy cut the butterflies and still make this card!
You could replicate this project after Sale-a-Bration ends with the Butterfly Gala Bundle (stamp set and punch) and other Designer Paper of your choice 🙂
What makes it a spinner card is layering mirror images in-between thread or in this case, fishing line! And then prior to closing the card you twist and twist and twist the image and close. When opened, the butterfly spins and twirls!

Gorgeous Grape CS: scrap for die cutting.

With Oval Framelits Die, die cut oval in the center of the inside basic black CS layer. Use center score line as guid.

Use glue dots and snail adhesive to sandwich butterflies in-between the thread or fishing line.
On the BACK SIDE of the oval opening, tape the thread/line using scotch tape. Make sure line is taunt when you tape down.
Add designer paper to side panels.
Adhere to the inside of the card base. The sides will be about 1/2″ from the sides. Stage before gluing down, making sure the opening looks the way you want.
Add layers to the front of the card.
Stamp sentient and add layers. Add to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals foam dots.
