Hi Everyone! Today’s project is called the Napkin Technique for Cards. #napkintechnique
There’s several ways to make and I like using Adhesive Sheets, VersaMark Ink and Clear Embossing Powder.
General Instructions:
- Napkins are 2-4 ply. Meaning they have thin layers. Carefully undo the ply so you just get the patterned front. Set aside.
- 4 x 5-1/4 Basic White for a backing for the napkin. You don’t have to use white, but it typically works best for the backing.
- Cut adhesive sheet to 4 x 5-1/4. Peel off front side and adhere to cardstock.
- Now peel off the other side of the adhesive sheet that is on the cardstock. Carefully do so glue stays on cardstock.
- Add napkin over the adhesive cardstock base. Smooth out with bone folder and to get good contact.
- Apply VersaMark all over the front of the card by taking ink pad to napkin.
- Sprinkle Clear Embossing Powder over card front and heat set.
- Layer as desired on card.
TIP! I like to make the napkin layer larger than the end result. So for example I took the finished napkin on cardstock with clear embossing layer and trimmed to 3-3/4 x 5. Which was my desired, finished size. It tidy ups the edges.
I did a Facebook Live that you can watch the replay below.

I hope you give this technique a try!
Happy Crafting!

I have forgotten the napkin technique. If I recall using plastic wrap between the single ply napkin and card stock and heat with an iron.
Loved seeing you tutorial, very pretty card.
Hi Joan! I haven’t heard of doing it that way…so interesting! Thanks for leaving a comment! Dee
Lovely card! Thanks, too, for showing me a different way to adhere the napkin. Love the embossing powder as well!!
Thank you Beth!
